Overview of Services

A family-centered, strength-based philosophy is a shift in the way providers approach children and families. It replaces the idea of a child-focused assessment and service programs. Family-centered, strength-based are different ways to view relationships between the child, the family, and the service delivery system with the family at the center and the service providers as collaborations. It is not only a set of specific strategies or models but is a framework based on the belief that the best approach to families' concerns is to build community supports around families' strengths and values. Family-centered, strength-based believes that families are capable of creating solutions to the needs that they have identified.
